A man identified as Murtala Abubakar Melalle has shared photos of his sister online after she was kidnapped on her way from writing JAMB examination.

According to the young man who stays in Kano state, the supposed kidnappers have already sent them text messages concerning the victim.

LAUTECH Students Stop JAMB Candidates From Entering Campus


ANGRY students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, on Monday morning, prevented candidates who are billed to write 2017 JAMB examination from entering the premises of the institution.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that the students had mobilised themselves as early as 6.00 a.m. for the action, and stationed themselves in teams across all entrances into the institution.

Sources informed that they barricaded all the entrances, thus, preventing any vehicular and even pedestrian movements in and outside the campus.

A 25-year-old scientist representing the District of Columbia was crowned winner of the Miss USA pageant on Sunday, the second consecutive year that the contestant from the nation’s capital won the annual competition. Kara McCullough, who holds a degree in chemistry and works at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, triumphed over 50 other contestants, including first runner-up Chhavi Verg, representing New Jersey, to claim victory in the contest which was held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. For her question as one of three finalists, McCullough was asked about healthcare rights, and replied that affordable healthcare was a privilege for people who held jobs. The response drew some stinging criticism on social media platforms such as Twitter, but also had its defenders. “Twitter is like a war zone,” posted one user, referring to opposing reactions to the winner’s remarks. Boko Haram Terrorists Kill 11 In Maiduguri


While the military commanders of operation Lafia Dole are trying to win the peace, of the lingering insurgent war in Borno, the Boko Haram insurgents have started a new wave of torment of farmers leading to the death of at least 11 of them over the weekend.

The residents of communities mostly in some outskirts of Maiduguri have been denied the real enjoyment of the peace as the insurgents sometimes in search of food have been keeping them on their toes day and night.

The residents are mostly returnees who used to enjoy peace in the state capital while they were in their former camps as IDPs but now receive insistent terror attack on a regular basis from the Boko Haram insurgents who, reports said hacked down 11 of them before leaving.

$15m Fraud: Courts Refuses Patience Jonathan’s Claim To $9.8m

Justice M.B. Idris of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, today rejected an application filed by a former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, seeking a declaration that she owns the sum of $9.8m domiciled in Skye Bank.

The former First Lady, through her lawyer, I.A. Adedipe, SAN, had filed an application by way of amended originating summons dated December 15, 2016, seeking a declaration that she is the owner of the money and that she is entitled to access the funds without hindrance.

Amaechi Suffers Defeat At Appeal Court

MINISTER of Transportation, Mr Chibuike Amaechi, yesterday, suffered defeat at the Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as the court upheld the judgment of the state ‘s High Court, which threw out his suit challenging the constitution of a Judicial Commission of Enquiry to probe the sale of valued assets when he was governor of the state. It will be recalled that on assumption of office, Governor Nyesom Wike had constituted a commossion to probe the sale of valued assets of the state by Amaechi while he was governor of the state.

Amaechi, on his part, had approached the Rivers State High Court, in Port Harcourt, challenging the action of the government. Justice Amadi of the Rivers State High Court in his ruling, held that Governor Wike acted within the confines of the law to have revisited the circumstances under which those assets were sold, a development which prompted the former governor to go on appeal. A unanimous judgment of the Appeal Court, yesterday, read by Justice F. O. Omoleye, dismissed Amaechi’s appeal, saying that the Judicial Commission of Enquiry was properly constituted by Governor Wike...

Two Engaged Medical Doctors Found Dead In Their Penthouse Apartment

According to law enforcement officers, two medical doctors in Boston who were engaged to each other, were found dead in their penthouse apartment.

49 years old Richard Field and 38 years old Lina Bolanos were anesthesiologists at Boston-area practices, according to the couples' respective employers after their bodies were found on Friday. 

Police arrested Bampumim Teixeira, after receiving 911 calls reporting a person with a gun on Dorchester Avenue in South Boston. Officers who confronted Teixeira in a dark hallway in the building believed he either pointed or fired a weapon at them and as a result discharged their own firearms.

After a "violent struggle," according to police, he was arrested and taken to the hospital. Teixeira was charged with two counts of murder. Teixeira will appear in court on June 8 for a probable cause hearing.
