Lai Mohammed |
After a successful digital switch-over in Jos at the weekend, Nigeria’s minister of information Lai Mohammed says switch-over will change the face of television broadcast in the country.
The minister who was speaking in Abuja on Wednesday at a press briefing said when the country is fully covered, digitization will task the creativity of Nigerian youths to develop content that will make them self-reliant while increasing citizens’ access to information.
The minister assured Nigerians that after Jos switch-over, Abuja will be next followed by Lagos before moving to other parts of the country before the June 2017 deadline date.
Lai Mohammed said although there are concerns in some quarters on the exercise, government will address the challenges on time so that the country can have a seamless transition.
